Therapy Dogs

Therapy dog teams (dog and handler) provide physical, psychological, and emotional benefits to individuals through interaction with the team. Typically, therapy dog teams visits hospitals, nursing homes, teen crisis centers, daycares, and schools. The role of the therapy dog varies depending on the venue, but they are encouraged to interact with multiple people while they are on-duty and individuals in each of these settings are encouraged to pet the therapy dog. ISDF therapy dog teams are properly screened to ensure suitable temperaments and they are trained, certified and  registered to serve in this capacity.
